The Hämeenlinna cruise season begins on Tuesday 16 June, when M/S Silver Sky arrives from Tampere and settles into the Vanajavesi landscape for the summer. M/S Silver Sky is Silver Lines newest ship and has not been seen in Hämeenlinna for years.
Welcome to a national landscape. At the heart of the Vanajavesi Valley lies Lake Vanajavesi, flowing as a chain of lakes and rivers. The scenery is shaped by impressive ridges and a rich cultural heritage. Historic churches and manor houses line this waterway, considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Häme Castle is especially magnificent when viewed from the lake.
The day cruise departs from Hämeenlinna Harbour and travels all the way to the Lepaa Winery, from where the ship returns to Hämeenlinna. In addition to Lepaa, the route stops at Aulanko and Hattula. One‑way tickets are also available, making it easy to combine the cruise with, for example, a cycling trip.
On the day cruise, you can enjoy lunch from a generous buffet or simply relax and admire the summer views with a cold drink in hand.

During the cruise, you’ll hear commentary about the history of the Vanajavesi Valley and Hämeenlinna, as well as the sights visible from the ship. The scenic cruise travels as far as Hattula before turning back toward Hämeenlinna. You can enjoy lunch from the generous buffet or simply relax and admire the summer scenery with a cold drink in hand.

On Hämeenlinna’s evening cruises, you can admire the beautiful scenery from Lake Vanajavesi. In addition to the changing lake views, delicious food and drinks are also on offer. Enjoy a tasty dinner from the buffet or admire the views with a refreshing drink. Join us for a summer evening on the waves!
On M/S Silver Sky, the focus is on Finnish ingredients and selections from local producers, and the aim is to serve contemporary Finnish cuisine suitable for lake and archipelago surroundings. The ship features a generous buffet with something to suit every taste.

Have you already visited one of Finland’s most beautiful artist homes? Visavuori is the home and studio of sculptor Emil Wikström. Additionally, Visavuori hosts Finland’s most entertaining museum – Kari’s Pavilion, which displays the works of caricaturist Kari Suomalainen along with occassionally changing exhibitions. The area also features a charming museum café.
The m/s Silver Sky operates between Hämeenlinna and Visavuori, featuring comfortable restaurant facilities and a full liquor license. Admire the scenery, enjoy the offerings of the onboard restaurant, and let your mind relax on the gentle waves.
Along the route, you’ll see the medieval Häme Castle from the water, whose grand brick walls rising right at the edge of Lake Vanajavesi. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the water and experience the cultural offerings that Visavuori. Spend an unforgettable day in the landscapes of Lake Vanajavesi.
Cruise all the way to Tampere. Along the route you can see attractions such as the stunning ridges of Pyynikki and Pispala in Tampere, the impressive narrow strait of Sotkanvirta in Nokia, the churches of Hattula, and of course, the medieval Häme Castle, whose majestic brick structures are located right on the shores of Lake Vanajavesi.
The M/S Silver Sky operates between Hämeenlinna, Visavuori, and Tampere, featuring cozy restaurant facilities and a full liquor license. Admire the scenery, enjoy the offerings of the onboard restaurant, and let your mind relax on the gentle waves.
In addition to Visavuori, other highlights along the route include Lepaa Winery, Lempäälä canal, the Aulanko and Eden entertainment spas, Myllyranta in Lempäälä, and Vaihmalan Hovi, just 15 minutes from Lempäälä canal.
