Where can I buy tickets?

Purchasing tickets is easy at our web shop, which is open 24/7. You can find the daily cruises and other happenings at the event calendar and purchase your tickets through the link online. All tickets booked at the web shop will be charged immediately. The Silverline ticket booth is located at the Laukontori Harbor. We currently operate no ticket booths in the other harbors or docks. Whenever a cruise is not fully booked in advance, tickets may also be purchased from the ships.

When buying a ticket from the Laukontori ticket booth, please note that the price is € 2 higher than the web shop quote.

We highly recommend purchasing your tickets online for two reasons. This way you can be certain of a seat on the ship, and you will also have up-to-the-minute information on possible delays or other unseen and regretfully unavoidable changes in schedule.


Can I use my ticket for another cruise than the one I originally purchased?

It is possible to use your ticket for another cruise if you contact us 24 hours before the departure time on the ticket. However, in this case you will also be charged an extra € 10 handling fee. When opting for a more expensive ticket, the difference in prices will be charged during the switch. When opting for a less expensive ticket, the customer forfeits the difference.


How can I pay at the ticket booth or on the vessels?

We accept cash and Visa Electron, Visa or Mastercard.


Which verification of a web shop booking do I need to present when arriving at the harbor?

After your purchase online is completed, you will receive the ticket(s) as a PDF document. You can either show this document on your mobile phone or hand over a printout of the document when boarding the ship. And it’s always a good idea to take the order confirmation and receipt with you as well.


When is the last moment to make a web shop booking for a particular trip?

All available tickets are for sale right up to the moment the vessel departs from the harbor. Should you wish to make enquiries for the day’s cruises after our customer service has closed for the day, you can call the ship directly.

Is there a discount for pensioners, students or groups?

On the Tampere – Visavuori – Hämeenlinna and the Tampere – Ruovesi – Virrat cruises, we offer discounted prices for pensioners, students and children between the ages of 3-12. When booking for groups over thirty people, every 31st ticket comes free of charge.

On the Viikinsaari transport route, we offer discounted prices for pensioners, students, families and children between the ages of 3-12. When booking for groups over thirty people, every 31st ticket comes free of charge.

On our package trips (which typically also include meals, bus travel etc.), we offer discounted prices for pensioners, students and children between the ages of 3-12.

On our day, evening and special cruises in between Hämeenlinna, Virrat and Tampere we offer tickets only for adults and children. No discounted prices for pensioners or students are available.

Any two discounts may not be combined.


Can I take a bicycle on board, do I need to book a place for it in advance and how much will it cost?

You can bring your bike for an extra charge of € 8. Because the number of bike places is limited, we highly recommend booking your tickets in advance.


Can I take my dog with me on board? Can I take my dog to Viikinsaari?

The Viikinsaari Island welcomes all canines. During the passage, all dogs must travel on a leash on the outer deck. Please remember to always keep your dog on a leash in Viikinsaari as well. Unfortunately, we can not allow dogs on the long cruise routes.


Where do the Silverline ships embark from?



All traffic to the Viikinsaari Island, the cruises to Visavuori and Hämeenlinna and all m/s Silver Sky cruises embark from the Laukontori Harbor at Laukontori, 33200 Tampere.

The steam ship Tarjanne embarks from the Mustalahti Harbor (next to the Särkänniemi amusement park) at Paasikiventie 2, 33230 Tampere.



The Hämeenlinna Dock is located at Arvi Kariston katu 8, 13100 Hämeenlinna.



The Ruovesi Dock is located at Laivarannantie 5, 34600 Ruovesi.



The Virrat Dock is located at the very end of Pohjolantie, 34800 Virrat.

Attention! When travelling by car, please note that Silverline does not run a parking lot in any of the harbors or docks. So always make sure to check the website of your chosen city, municipality or location in advance for availability and distance of convenient parking spaces.


How much prior to the departure time should I arrive at the harbor or dock?

We recommend arriving no later than fifteen minutes before your ship is due to embark. Customer boarding begins app. thirty minutes before departure.


Is it possible to buy a Silverline gift card?

We have gift cards for sale at www.hopealinjat.fi/lahjakortti/

You can also purchase gift cards by visiting the Silverline office at Laukontori 10 LH 2, 33200 Tampere (Open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or by sending a request to our customer service at asiakaspalvelu@hopealinja.fi. When ordering a gift card from our customer service, make sure to also send us the mailing address of the recipient. You will receive an invoice in return, and we will send the gift to its recipient straight after receiving your payment.


Where can I enquire after lost goods and property?

We deliver all items found on our ships and other premises to the lost property office of Pirkanmaa at Suvantokatu 10, 33100 Tampere. They are open on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from Tuesdays to Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. Their website can be found at www.plt.fi.
